Attendance

We are committed to meeting our obligation with regards to school attendance through our whole-school culture and ethos that values good attendance, including:

  • Promoting good attendance
  • Reducing absence, including persistent and severe absence
  • Ensuring every student has access to the full-time education to which they are entitled
  • Acting early to address patterns of absence
  • Building strong relationships with families to ensure students have the support in place to attend school
  • We will also promote and support punctuality in attending lessons.

Our team

Our attendance officer for Year 7 – 11 is Hannah Dunne.

Our attendance officers for the Sixth Form are Sara Tehrani and Shazia Ahmed.

How to report an absence

All absences should be reported to attendance by 9.00am on every day of absence.

This should be done by calling our school phone number – 0114 235 3855.

Emails will not be accepted as it is important to discuss non-attendance, not just report it.

If your child is not marked on the register as present, the school office will contact you to find out the reason for absence.

This may include home visits if it is not possible to speak with parents/carers on the telephone.
