Welcome to Sixth Form

Welcome to King Ecgbert School Sixth Form

Choosing where to continue your education post 16 is an important decision and we are proud to offer a sixth form experience that is ambitious, supportive and inclusive.

Our sixth form is a place where students are known as individuals, challenged academically and encouraged to aim high. We combine excellent teaching with strong pastoral care, high expectations and personalised guidance so that every student is well prepared for their next steps, whether that is university, an apprenticeship or employment.

We are committed to creating an environment where students feel supported, valued and confident to succeed, both academically and personally.

Introduction to the sixth form

King Ecgbert School Sixth Form offers a vibrant and aspirational learning environment for students aged 16 to 18. Students benefit from specialist subject teaching, a broad range of courses and clear academic pathways that allow them to tailor their studies to their interests, strengths and future ambitions.

Alongside academic study, students develop independence, resilience and leadership skills that prepare them for adult life. Our Sixth Form is an integral part of the wider school community, offering students opportunities to contribute, lead and make a positive difference.

Vision and ethos

Our vision is to develop confident, knowledgeable and ambitious young people who are ready to succeed in higher education, training and employment.

Our ethos is rooted in high academic standards, mutual respect and inclusive opportunity. We believe that all students should be encouraged to pursue aspirational pathways, regardless of background or prior attainment. We value hard work, curiosity and a commitment to personal growth.
