Overview

Our history department is staffed by passionate teachers with excellent subject knowledge. We deliver a varied and diverse curriculum across all key stages, focusing on developing the historical skills essential for success. History is a popular choice at both GCSE and A Level.

Our intent is to develop excellent historians by equipping students with the knowledge and skills to understand how past events shape the world today.

We aim for students to analyse information objectively, challenge assumptions, and reflect on their place in the world. They learn to recognise different historical perspectives and understand how interpretations of the past are continually reconsidered and re-evaluated.
